Learning Objectives:

After attending this conference, participants will:

  1. Have a general understanding of the history of auditory processing disorders.

  2. Have a better understanding of what an APD is. 

  3. Better understand the different approaches to APD and the assessment process.

  4. Understand the difference between managing problems presented by APD and how to remediate the same presenting problems. 

  5. Understand the basic principles being Fast ForWord produced by Scientific Learning, Earobics by Cognitive Concept the LiPs 
    program produced by Lindamood-Bell.

  6.   Understand how strategies can be developed and taught to children with APD. 

  7. Will have a general understanding of how to effectively advocate for a child in school.

  8. Will have a general knowlede the IDEA, Section 
    504 the American's with Disabilities Act.

CEU's:

The Department of Communicative Disorders, University of Florida Health Science Center, is approved by the Continuing Education Board of ASHA to offer continuing education activities in speech-language pathology and audiology. This program is offered for 1.3 CEUs (Introductory Level, Professional Area). ASHA approval of CE Provider status does not imply endorsement of course content, specific products, or clinical procedures.

Cancellation Policy:

All cancellations must be made prior to the October 11, 2002 deadline.  If registration is cancelled prior to this date, the registration fee will be refunded, minus a $25 cancellation fee.
